The client wished to provide a universal access at the entrance to the Arts Block in the centre of the UCD campus, and provide enhanced amenity open space for the use of staff and students.
University College Dublin successfully tendered for the project and the UCD Clinton Institute for American Studies has been formally established and housed in the 19th Century Belfield House and Clinton Auditorium at UCD.
SDA were appointed to develop a landscape strategy which, together with the Media Cube building by Murray O Laoire Architects, would announce the campus frontage along Kill Avenue and distinguish it from its suburban surroundings.
